CAPTURING A COUPLE'S LOVE

Hey I'm Ashton! Nice to meet you! I’m a Texas girl that now lives in Nashville, Tennessee. You can usually find me at coffee shop, watching too many episodes of Friends, decorating my apartment, cuddling with my crazy pup, Cooper, or spending quality time with my amazing husband. Capturing couple’s love stories is my passion. They inspire me and encourage me and leave me better. I love seeing how Jesus has uniquely crafted each of my clients’ stories. I praise him for this passion and I pray that I am able to serve and love on others through the gift He has given me.

OUR SWEET LOVESTORY

EST. 2015

The backstory about how I met my sweet husband, Kevin, plus details of our first date, transferring to different schools, getting married and everything else in between!

barbie + ken

kev & I got set up for a halloween Date party...

The date party was during my Freshman year, and we went as Barbie & Ken! He drove his brother’s car because he was too embarrassed to show up at my dorm in his mini van. After our initial blind date, Kev asked me on a few more dates. Honestly, they were a little awkward but we had some great conversations and I had never met a more godly man!

I STILL HAD SOMETHING IN THE BACK OF MY MIND SAYING “HE COULD BE THE ONE.”

It had been months since we had talked. I added him on snapchat and told him I was transferring to TCU from Alabama. This made him start pursuing me even more. I opened up to him about depression that i was struggling with and he opened up to me about his anxiety attacks he was having since studying for the MCAT. We became good friends and had so much fun together over the next few weeks-- going to date parties together, looking at christmas lights, and having deep chats about life.

first kiss

WHEN I WENT HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, I TOLD KEV,
“COME TO TEXAS!

I was so pleasantly surprised he came! He had some family in Dallas and his whole family came to spend time with them and he got to spend time with me too. Win, win! We had our first kiss on New Year’s Eve and officially started dating. The Lord’s timing was perfect.

long distance

IT WAS PROBABLY THE BEST AND HARDEST THING I’VE EVER DONE...

Kev and I always joke about it saying God knew that I needed a long distance relationship because it forced me to open up. We had to be intentional about Facetime dates and couldn’t just go do something fun together!

engagement

OUR ENGAGEMENT CONSISTED OF PHONE CALLS AND ONCE-A-MONTH VISITS TO EACH OTHER!

I was in Fort Worth finishing up my degree at TCU and he was in his second year of medical school. We both felt a peace that the Lord had brought us in each other’s lives for a specific purpose and couldn’t wait to be married.

marriage

ON JUNE 10, 2017, WE OFFICIALLY TIED THE KNOT!

The day overflowed with God’s goodness and His presence. Having all of our family and best friends in one place celebrating was an absolute dream! Marriage is definitely not always easy, but so worth it! It is learning to talk through conflict. It is encouraging one another and picking each other up when the other is down. It is getting on our knees and admitting to God that we cannot do life on our own as much as we try. I am so thankful for marriage and for my amazing husband. Learning and growing alongside this guy is definitely the best part.
